NOW COMES the defendant, by pro se, and to amend her previously filed Motion and previously denied Motion for co-counsel to be re-considered based on the following information:

1. That the defendant reads the Chicago Tribune daily.
2. That the Chicago Tribune has for the past year done several investigative stories about inadequate public defenders going up against over-zealous prosecutors who for some reason are better funded by the state than the public defenders, the latest news series running the week of November 14 - 20, 1999, during which time defendant in this instance had her first court appearance at Branch 46 on November 18, 1999.
3. That the defendant, overheard discussions in the 13th and Michigan court building of other defendants unhappy with their public defenders and overhead none where they expressed confidence.
4. Whereas these incidences have further eroded the defendant's confidence in accepting a public defender as her gatekeeper to justice.
